To boost the ambition of the Responsible Digital Transformations, extra funding was made available to interdisciplinary UvA initiatives to work with non-academic partners on pressing societal questions. This has led to a number of small- and mid-scale projects. Seed grant projects give space to new, innovative, interdisciplinary initiatives. In Midsize projects, UvA researchers work closely with non-academic partners on concrete societal questions. One of the projects “Synthetic data to enhance new treatment uptake for acute ischemic stroke”, explores and evaluates generative AI models for synthetic data generation to advance development, regulatory approval, and practical implementation of novel treatment devices. This is again a successful GEMINI Spin-off!
